Seriously I don't care - my personal opinion that in this particular case it is none of our ( India's ) business to meddle in Sri Lankan affairs when they are on the verge of getting rid of a menace they have . Terrorism is not a solution of anything . Only peaceful times can bring happiness and prosperity.
I did not travel to SL but had one my classmate from SL. He is an SL Tamilian and joined me in my school. His parents were taken for interogation and they never returned. Father was killed during interogation and mother died in between the clash. He was bundled in the truck by his neighbor and shifter to India. I dont believe that SL Tamils are treated equally. I really hope that there would be an end to their sufferings. It is unfair to make an incorrect statement. Their own Army Chief Pon Sekara made a open statement that the SL Tamils has to live like a secondary citizens. When thousands of innocent people are dying and trying to justifying is equal to committing the murder.
The blunder LTTE did is assassinating Rajiv Gandhi. But again Indira Gandhi was assasinated. Even the SL PM Rajapakse assassinated the editor who has written a column about the civilians sufferings.
I accept that terrorism is not the solution. It is easy to tell that way from a safe place and hidden from the truth.

Kancha Ilaya(Sonia appointed ) is being allowed by the Indian Government to lobby with the UN and US Congress so that caste discrimination in India is taken-up by these bodies. Many of them would have short tem political life. Mamta Benergee, Mayavati, Mulayam, lalu, Narendra Modi, Sharad Yadav and many others are example of bottom-to-top.
Rahul Gandhi doesn't want to be labeled as top-to-bottom. It won't last long.

I heard that if you apply on your own and move out of US, it becomes very difficult to let the Can immigration authority about your current location and keep track of all the correspondence with them. But, the agency/lawyer does this thing very efficiantly. Any opinion on this ?

For 2007 we had an availability of 226,000 Family Based Visas. But the issued visas in 2007 in Family Based are 194,900 visas. That means there are 226,000 MINUS 194,900 = 31100. These 31,100

202 (e)(3) will not applicable, because of (a)(5).
The third point excempts that ..
(3) 3/ except as provided in subsection (a)(5), the proportion of the visa numbers made available under each of paragraphs (1) through (5) of section 203(b) is equal to the ratio of the total number of visas made available under the respective paragraph to the total number of visas made available under section 203(b).

I know that, I was part of it. Lawsuit will require more than that amount if it gets protracted. Keeping the money angle apart, how many are ready to put their names on the plaintiff list?
We (MI chapter) tried to get two members who were impacted to participate in a lawsuit filed by another organization. It was free for them, they didn't have to pay a dime. Guess what, both of them bailed out at the last moment.
I'm not discouraging anyone here. Someone please conduct a poll on contribution pledges, and active participation. Then we will get an approximate understanding of how much we can raise, and how many are willing to have their name on the the lawsuit.
Show me the money!
But we also have members making $30K fundraising effort successful in 7 days! Hence I believe if the IV core decides to explore the possibility of a lawsuit, we can raise enough money to hire an attorney for that.

If you think memo is illegal you can suggest and immpress IV to file a lawsuit. If it is clearly violation of law then filing lawsuit will not be that much costly. I see your other thread for asking opinion about fighting legally. I will be surprised if a few hundred will reply for that.
