Hi folks,
Could someone please point me to a Marriage Certificate Translation service9s)?
It's in Marathi and has photos, legal fee stamps and seals on it and I would like to retain the look as much as possible.
I kinda searched this website, but the search engine doesn't take you to a specific post in a thread. Instead it just brings up all threads that contain a post with the search keyword. After navigating through a few pages with no luck, I gave up and hence the (potentially redundant) question!
With another opportunity for Adjustment of Status around the corner, I want to get this asap.

It took 8 months for the paper work,running ads etc.
It was filed on Nov 9th and my HR got approval on Jan 5th.
EB3 and EB2 from same Company.

you'd mentioned 140 withdrawl in dec2009.
AC21 is not mandatory in my opinion ( my lawyer's too) , I changed job this Aug
saw a soft LUD on my 4 years ago approved 140 after changing jobs..it been 3 months to the soft LUD.
seeing your pattern looks like they may send some letter but have not got any yet.

Although I am not going anywhere, as summer rolls along, visions of distant lands dance in my head. However, that vision is marred by long lines at the airports--- getting your luggage checked, getting into a plane with carry on bags and no overhead place, and finally the immigration and customs line ups.
This year, for a fee, the Government and even some airlines are helping to ease that pain.
The US Government, (and some foreign Government as well like Holland) has introduced the Global Entry Program. US Citizens over the age of 14 can pay a fee of $100/- (valid for 5 years) and enroll in the program. They have to enter their data in the following web site:
https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/ (http://goes-app.cpb.dhs.gov)
After the completion of the process, there will be a one time only CBP interview.
However, once its complete, you do not need to stand in any immigration line. There are kiosks in most major airports. The traveler has to scan in their passport at airport kisoks, and zoom down to luggage claim.
Similarly, in Houston IAH, international travelers who are US Citizens and has no checked luggage, can go through the lines used by pilots and air hostesses for faster processing.
This process can be used by anyone, but because of the lengthy process to get into the program, its probably feasible for frequent business travelers only. The travelers also get expedited check in in kiosks of other participating countries as well. As more countries sign on, the price may come down. Or this may simply become a requirement for foreign travel in the future. It will save money on personnel for countries participating in this program.
Additionally, some airlines are also letting passengers cut in line for boarding the plane or for checking in for a fee. Both American and South West is going to be offering this perk for a fee ranging from $10/- to $50/- per ticket.
This will be the future of travel, in a world increasingly short for time. But then, in this world, will there even be time for vacations?

I’m confused about using the EAD. Someone please clarify me….
I already received the EAD for me and my wife. Currently, I’m in the H1b which is expiring on Sep 2008 (6 years are over). My questions are?
•Can I be in H1b and still work another job as a part-time?
------ if the part time job is using a part time H1 only then you will be H1 and dependents in H4 using EAD meaning you lose H1/4
•If my wife wants to work using her EAD does it have any effect on her h4 status?
--- her status becomes AOS pending and H4 is gone
•If my wife loose her job during the use of her EAD what will be her status?

The whole GC process is based on future employment which your employer undertook to give you on your getting GC. If your employer (who let you go) is still committed to that, you are fine, but that is unlikely. Once 180+ days pass, you are ok provided your I-140 was already approved or is approvable. You may want to read bulletins on the subject USCIS has issued time to time.

I have a question regarding employment and I-485 approval. For travel, one can take the I-797 approval notice and get their passport stamped if the physical green card has not arrived yet.
How about employment? Can the approved I-797 for green card be used for filling in I-9 for employment? One can think of various situations where this might be useful. Say you have renewed your EAD/H1B that is expiring, do you file the new I-9 with new EAD/H1B or show the I-797.

Approved Asylum in 06. Applied for GC in 07, still pending and received this letter a few days back.

Rather than denying your application based on inadmissibility, we are holding adjudication in abeyance while the Department of Homeland Security considers additional exercises of the Secretary of Homeland Security?s discretionary exemption authority. Such an exercise of the exemption authority might allow us to approve your case."

Now I have two H1Bs after transfer, literally. Am I correct? Now I am eligible to work for both the companies. Am I correct?
There is nothing called H1-B *transfer*. Each employer does a brand new petition. Once the second petition is approved (and you got I-94, etc.), your status depends on how the second petition was filed:
(i) If the second petition was filed as concurrent, then you can work for both the employers.
(ii) Otherwise, you can work only for one employer.
So you need to know how Company B filed their petition.

It seems as if the Big B has not given up on this issue just yet. He is making it a point to mention it atleast once each week, despite what other international developments are going on. I think he will be putting the full court press on the house republicans, it will be interesting to see whether he gets them to accept some compromise.

What is the best possible solution to get around different place birth on Passport and BC. Any has affidavit format for such issue please share it.
According to chat transcript from a lawyer's site some one had the same question. The answer is "USCIS does not care much about secondary document like passport and what's in the primary document like Birth certificate is important and matters". In other words they may not be comparing the passport and birth certificate for place of birth. Just my 2cents as I'm not a lawyer.

This is not the fence bill. This is the DHS appropriations bill in which 1.2 billion dollar is allocated for fence building. Anyways. it doesn't matter if the fence bill is signed or not. It's not gonna make any difference to us so why worry about it.

Person leaves US while on the 5th year in November 07.

However re-enters US only after 365 days of external stay in december 08 (not in Oct 08).
Is he eligible for a new 3X2 year H1 or can he obtain only a year extension to recapture the time spent abroad (365 days)?
