Latest Quick Listoon

Here is the latest Quick Listoon.

I like this strip a lot, I'm happy with how it turned out. Usually right when I get these, I'm thinking, "Man, how am I going to draw that?" Like the intestinal parasite. But eventually I work it all out and come up with something. The lovely Mrs. and I have just recently starting watching "Breaking Bad", so when I read the words "meth lab", I knew exactly what I wanted to.

When is Enough- ENOUGH

I wouldn’t be the “SoccerMom” if I didn’t freakin talk about Soccer every once in awhile. Right?

So here it is.

Now that my son is a freshman in high school, we are winding down on the whole sports thing. I think we have accepted that my son will not go on to play professional soccer. Which makes me a little sad. Ok, alot sad.

He will continue on the next three years playing soccer and running . As for college, I do not know.

It is hard to think about this since my son has played sports since he was four years old. That is a long freakin time.

He has played/paticipated in baseball, basketball, soccer, cross country, and track. He also golfs, plays tennis, runs in 5ks and plays football just not on a team ,but those were for fun.

Everyone in my family has played in a sport at some point in time. When I first met my husband, he was still playing basketball, football, and volleyball. Occasionally he runs in 5ks. Our family is very competitive.
You know balls to the wall kinda thing.

I personally feel that it is important to keep your child envolved in something, so that they will not have any time for the “BAD” things. So far so good.

It all starts when they are little, you sign them up for every freakin sport there is. Initially, to see where or if they have any natural talent. At age four your child can not make their own decisions, so you as a parent do it for them. I am pretty sure at age 4 my son didn’t stop and say “hey I think I’m gonna be a professional baseball player when I grow up”. No, he just wanted to play.

Even back then, he was very serious about sports. So we just ran with it. Early on we realized that he had what it takes to be a really good athlete.

I know, get to the freakin point already.

Here is what I am trying to say, How soon is too soon? And How much is too much? I totally get it. I have been there. You want your child to have every opportunity to try all sports. Then the next thing you know they are in Jr. High and they are still playing multiple sports. Which is too much.

I’ll never forget one time my son was playing on two different soccer teams at the same time. You know to get maximum amount of game time in. So this one time we got to the game and realized that he was wearing the wrong damn uniform.

That was when I finally told him that he needed to pick one sport, one team. It was getting to be too much. The secondary problem is when you get envolved in a competitive team; you are gauranteed to spend lots of money, lots of time traveling, and many practices.

Our family has been transporting my son around for years to all these different events. I do not know at what point it became not fun anymore for him. Maybe it was missing out on all the fun times with friends, or missing all the birthday parties or all the sleep overs. I truly do not know, at what point the burn out came. The point is, we are here.

You push and push your child cause they say “I love soccer”, you think your doing whats in their best interest.

You know it’s a dog eat dog world out there.
If you want to be the best, you have to bust your ass.

So this is me sharing valuable information with you.

Don't push so hard.

The reality is, not every kid is going to grow up to be a Major League baseball player, if they are lucky they might get some good college scholarships.

Don’t ruin it for them.

High school is the time when you need to worry the most about kids getting into bad things. You don’t want your child to be burnt out and quit, just at the time when they need to be envolved the most.

Nudist

How carefree are you? Really

Would you/could you walk around naked in your house? Would you/ could you sit naked in a friend’s hot tub (with other ppl)? Would you/ could you walk naked on a public beach?

Does this not scream CAREFREE

Here is the definition.

Carefree means:
lighthearted, untroubled;
free of trouble and worry;
easy-going;
laid back;
not careful;

Is being naked really about being carefree or is it about being comfortable with your body? Is it all about your self image.

I don’t know about you but I have been to nude beaches before and for the most part the ppl that are walking around there naked are not some hot, young, goodlookin, in shape kinda ppl. Therefore, that leads me to believe those ppl are very comfortable with their bodies or they would not be struttin their stuff around on the beach. Ok, I know what you’re thinking. I do not frequent nude beaches but I have in my day stumbled upon one or two. Come on ppl, it was purely by accident.

Now while I am comfortable being naked, it is in my own home. I don’t have a problem walking around naked in my own home. Reality is the only ppl that see me naked are my own family. No, judgements there. At least none that they would comment to me about. (If they know whats good for them) Honestly I am not comfortable with how my body looks. Post having children.

So, you will probably never see me 1 ) running around naked on a beach and 2 ) naked in any of my friends hot tubs . Maybe, if I were really drunk? And then again maybe not.

So, how do you feel about being naked?

FRIENDS: Past, Present, and Future

Friends

You make them in grade school, Jr high, High School and even College.

You find that one friend that you just cannot live without. You do everything together.

As you grow up, you and your BFF make so many plans for the future.

Sometimes they pan out, sometimes not. Sometimes things change. Sometimes one moves away and sometimes the other one moves on. You keep in touch, but it is never the same.

Then you become adults. Your views in life change. As most do, cause honestly when you’re a teen what the hell do you really know about the freakin world? Not, a whole heck of a lot. Youre just living in the minute, everything is a good time.

Eventually you and your BFF move in separte directions. You get married and have your own family / life.

As time goes on, you make new friends at your job, in your neighbor hood, at your kid’s school, and at your yoga class, you even reconnect with some old friends from school.

These are not the same types of friendships as your original BFF. This is not a bad thing. It is just a different type of friendship, because now you are not a teen anymore.

Now, I have come to meet some really amazing people over the last 20 years. Ones that I have shared new experiences and made new memories with. These new friends are very important to me.

However, the impact of your first true friendship will forever stay with you. It has helped shape who you are.

I still think about mine every day. I know that seems silly, but there is always something in my day that happens or I hear or see that reminds me of her. We may not be as close as we once were, but I will never forget the great times we had together. Those were the days, that I had the time of my life. No, regrets.

Anyone out there still in touch
with his or her childhood best friend?

The Pro Sketch Cards

I got my blanks in for my next set for 5finity, The Pro. That's right. The comic by Garth Ennis, Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. Now, for full disclosure's sake, I've never read the book. But I have flipped through it once and I've pulled enough reference images to feel I can do a decent job on the cards, but I am by no means an expert, so cut me some slack on the finished pieces. If you are unfamiliar with the book, it's fairly adult to say the very, very... very least, but the cards won't be. It's a parody of superheroes and the main character is a prostitute who is given super powers. Soooo, don't buy it for your kiddos.

Under the BED

I have to say that I have not sleep well in days.

Did I mention that my little dogs do not like to eat dog food out of a bowl? They prefer it to be on the freakin floor. Even when I put it in the bowl, they scratch it out onto the floor. I know you’re thinking what does thi s have to do with the price of tea in China, right?

Everyone knows I sleep alone. Since my sportsman refuses to go to the doctor for his snoring. So the other night I woke up at 2:30 for whatever reason . Who the hell knows. I did not sit up or get out of bed. I just grabbed the remote to change the TV to a different channel to watch until I fell back asleep.

As I lay there, I hear this noise. It is the exact sound the dogs make when they are crunching on their little doggie food. So I sit straight up and sramble to the edge of the bed to look. 1) the chihuahua is in her kennel at night and 2) the other two other dogs are shut in other rooms down the hall.

So as I look all around the floor (while I stay on the freakin bed) I see
n o t h i n g. Which then scares the shit out of me. I was so hoping to see that one of the dogs had gotten out. (I know I was not dreaming it. )You also have to understand I watch A LOT of scary movies. Therefore, I am always thinking the worst in a scary situation.

I then turn down the volume on the remote, so I can hear everything. I lay there for what seemed like hours. Never hearing it again. I was by no means going to look under the freakin bed. Hello!!! Don’t you watch any scary movies? You NEVER look under the bed and well also, I have so much shit under there you would never be able to see anything wtihout taking everything out from under the bed. That was so not gonna happen at 3am.

At this point I am obviously awake. I have layed down; I have the covers pulled clear up to my neck. I am sweating my ass off. My thoughts are, what if it’s a rat/mouse? No biggie right? Wrong it is a huge freakin deal. I am not scared of a mouse but, what if I fall asleep and the damn thing climbs up on my bed? What the heck? What if it bites me? So I layed there for ev er. Wide-awake. Until I was not awake anymore. I finally crashed from being so tired and stressed.

The next morning I tell my sportsman about it. As you can guess, he just laughed at me. I told him I need him to check under the bed. So, he picked up the bed skirt and took a quick peek. Um, hello I said you can’t tell from there. He says he does not have the time, to do this since someone would have to drag out everything that is under the bed.

*Note- this is the exact reason why you should not use your bed as an extra storage place for all other misc. crap in your house.

It has been a busy week, so no one has had time to check under the bed, to see if there is indeed a mouse living there or not. Hence the fact I havent slept much, for fear a mouse will be crawling in bed with me after I fall asleep.

I know, you just cannot make shit like this up.
What to do?
 Other than wait till the weekend
and do some house cleaning.

The BAND of the Week

Alecia Beth Moore ,better known by her stage name Pink .

Pink's nickname was given to her because friends say she would blush when she got embarrassed.

Pink is an American singer, songwriter, and occasional actress who rose to fame in early 2000.

She released her first single "There You Go" and first album, the R&B-oriented Can't Take Me Home, in 2000 via LaFace Records, which garnered commercial success.

It sold around 4 million copies worldwide. Her more pop rock-oriented second studio album, Missundaztood, which began a marked shift in the sound of her music, was released in 2001 and was also very successful worldwide, selling around 13 million copies.

Pink is the #1 Pop Song Artist of the Decade (2000-2009)according to Billboard Decade End Chart.

Pink was born Alecia Beth Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.  Pink developed her voice early in life.

Although a healthy baby at birth, she quickly developed asthma that plagued her through her early years.

Her initial writings were always very introspective. Some of it was very black, and very deep, almost worrisome. She began performing in Philadelphia clubs when she was 14 years old.

At 16, she joined the R&B Atlanta-based trio Choice, which included Chrissy Conway of the Christian girl group ZOEgirl.

Choice eventually disbanded after recording an unreleased album.  Pink remained at LaFace as a solo act under the stage name Pink.
