Latest and Last Listoon

What we'd like Texas and OU players to say in postgame interviews.

Ah, read it while you can. Unfortunately this is the final Listoon. The newspaper is going start running my friend David Hopkins' strip "We've Never Met" weekly. Unlike Listoons, it's a serialized strip and they're making the move in attempt to get readers catching on to it. Good news for David and Chad. Sad news for me and Geoff... er, uh Stacy. I can never get that straight, I'm always unsure about where he/she is the transformation process.

Anyway, it was a fun ride. Thanks to David, who got me involved. Thanks to Rob, my Editor at Quick for hiring me and thanks to Stacy for writing such entertaining stuff for me to scribble. Rob mentioned we may do one here or there in the future, so keep your eyes and ears open.

And now on to the Texas/OU themed strip. Go Hogs.

Latest Listoon and Some old KISS Memorabilia

"Merchandising ideas Kiss has yet to try."
When I got the script for this Listoon (or KISStoon), I knew it would be a fun one for me. As a kid, I was a huge KISS fan. They were really the only albums I had for a while, I was in the KISS Army, and I was an “Ace” guy. But I dropped off after “Dynasty”. No Peter and Ace, no deal. I’ve only seen them once in concert, on their first reunion tour, when they had Peter and Ace. It was everything I wanted it to be. Like Alive and Alive II come to life.

While drawing this strip, I dug into some boxes in the studio closet and found a lot of my old KISS memorabilia. Feast your eyes on this treasure trove of KISStory…

Things We'd Like to See in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

The latest Quick Listoon.

I didn't realize the issue this was going in would have a huge Twilight story in it and have all three of the Twilight "hotties" on the cover. I just imagine all the little Twilight fans snatching this up and then reading the comic in the back of it. Hey, don't blame me, I just draw it (even though it is funny). Find Stacy Austin Sheffield and complain to her.

Rejected Alternate Titles for "Sex and the City 2"

Lastest Quick Listoon written by the beautiful Stacy Austin Sheffield. Stacy is like Charlotte hot. And in case you were unaware, Charlotte is the hottest of all those broads. For realz.

Latest Quick Listoon

Here is the latest Quick Listoon.

I like this strip a lot, I'm happy with how it turned out. Usually right when I get these, I'm thinking, "Man, how am I going to draw that?" Like the intestinal parasite. But eventually I work it all out and come up with something. The lovely Mrs. and I have just recently starting watching "Breaking Bad", so when I read the words "meth lab", I knew exactly what I wanted to.

New Listoon

Alternate Reality Versions of Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland". Written by Stacy Austin Sheffield, illustrated by Cal Slayton. Oh, wait, that's me. This was fun to do. I love "Reservoir Dogs", "Dumb and Dumber" and "The Big Lebowski", so this was a bit what folks call a treat.Quick Listoon #8

"Jersey Shore" Spin-offs We'd Like to See

Here is the latest Quick Listoon. I've never watched "Jersey Shore", so when I was sent the script, I thought, "Great, now I'm gonna have to watch it. For work!" So, I sullied the reputation of our DVR and recorded an episode. Man, I couldn't get through 10 minutes of it before I deleted it. And not that I'm against bad TV, I watch my share for sure. But these kids ... ugh. So I just relied on their profiles on MTV's website and Google Image Search. Hopefully, I did them justice. Because if anyone deserve justice in this world it's those fine, upstanding folks.

I haven't mentioned anything about our process of doing these strips. Geoff comes up with the topic, writes a bunch of panels and then sends them to our editor at Quick. They then narrow them down to the seven we're gonna do. They hand it off to me, just the list, no notes. Then I come up with all the visuals. There have been one or two panels that I've run past them first just to confirm I'm getting the point across with the image, but generally I just draw them and send the strip back. This week's strip is the first one where I was asked to change something. Originally, I had Bruce Springsteen in the CSI scene. They said it would be better if it were just a regular Jersey type dude. And I agree with their point. But, I saved the unpublished panel. I couldn't do that to the Boss...

New Quick Listoon

Here is the installment from this week's issue of Quick. Imagine me trying to explain myself to my wife when she asked, "Why are you Googling images of John Stamos?" Wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't like the hundredth time she's found me doing it.
