Image Dump

Here is a grab bag of images. I was organizing my files and came across all of these. I don't think I've posted any of them before. One is an unfinished Morgan Freeman image I was doing for fun. One is a book cover job. One was is a project I did for a couple of chefs who were creating a web site. One is a Doctor Who commission from 5 years ago. One is a mascot image for a lawn mowing service. See if you can guess which ones are which.

Back on the road to Spookytown

Here is a new Spookytown promo image I recently did. Once again the book (a graphic novel I'm working on) has been sitting on the back burner due to many other things taking priority. 1. Baby coming. This means cleaning out the spare room, painting it, installing crown moulding and a chair rail, putting up shelving in the closet, etc. 2. Freelance work. Paying work comes before non-paying work, especially with the previously mentioned baby on the way. 3. Other comic projects. Right now I'm working on the last story I'm doing before Spookytown.

I keep getting lucky enough to receive offers to do stories in other books, and it's really hard to turn them down. I probably should've turned down this current but it was too cool. Recently, I've had to turn down a couple of nice ones. One from my man Samax at GhettoManga and one from Kevin at Ape Entertainment. I really, really, really wanted to do them both, but I just can't. Not if I want to have any chance to get Spookytown done. Comics are soooo time consuming.

I've been doing a lot of sketches in the past couple of weeks, just to get me back into the groove of drawing the characters. It helps me get pumped up for the story again drawing these guys. So hopefully I can get back on track with it.

New Comics!

Two new comics that feature my work that I want to let you know about. One is Potlatch #7, an anthology published by Angry Dog Press. I drew a story entitled "Kissed by a Muse", which was written by Chad Lambert. The book has actually been out for a couple of months now, but I've been holding out posting about because I was waiting on copies of the book that I could sell at cons. Well, I'm still waiting on copies of the freaking thing. I have two comp copies, but apparently the publisher is having a hard time dealing with the printer. Sounds like a sucky printer to me, but what do I know? Anyway, he's working on it and I hope to get some soon.

The other book is a collection of pin-ups done by various artists for Scotty Story's book Johnny Saturn. It's a nice mix of different styles. I drew Madame Fishnet, as noted several posts back, and Scott like it so much that he used it for the cover. I was very flattered by that. Scott's a really nice guy, very genuine. If you are "Shades of Blue" fan from back in the day, you might remember that he drew the Marcus fantasy issue (#6). Go check out his stuff.

My Artwork on Fabric

A company that produces fabric for various products wanted to use some of my stuff. I put together 16 girlie faces, some pre-exiting, some altered and some new. Here's what I did. I'm guessing they'll probably bump them all up next to each other. They're supposed to send me a website where products are available with this style once it's up and running. When I get the link, I'll post it.

Affordable Man!

Knockin' out High Prices! I was hired to do a bunch of illustrations of Affordable Man, super hero of Affordable Home Furnishings, a rent-to-own company in Louisiana and Texas. Here are some of the images, as well as some screen captures from a commercial he is featured in.

More Frisco STYLE Magazine Cartoons

Here is a big dump of drawings I did for the Frisco STYLE Magazine in the past six months. They tell me what they have in mind, I draw it.
