Comicon Thanks

I just wanted to thank everyone who stopped by my table at the Dallas Comicon this past weekend. I had a great time and drew almost non-stop on Saturday. I met a lot of cool people as always. Special thanks to members of the Austin Browncoats, (Beth, Brooks and all the rest), Actually there might have been other Browncoat groups there too, I'm not sure. Maybe Texas Browncoats in general. Anyway, they bought almost all of my Firefly drawings and commissioned several more. They were all really nice and seemed to have fun coming up with great scenarios for me to draw the characters in. I know I had fun drawing them for them. Check out their site and their charities, good stuff. Speaking of Browncoats, a while back I came up with this Browncoat design that I really like and decided to make some products out of it. Right now I have some t-shirts set up (mens and womens in different colors). I plan to more products and different Firefly designs. I might even make the entire cast out of this style.

Visit my store for the Browncoat design.

Oh yeah, I also got two great Spookytown drawings at the show. One from Howard Chaykin and an incredible one from Cat Staggs. I'll see about scanning it later, it's a beauty.

Zatanna Commission

Edit: Forgot to mention the pose is based off of a Vargas pin-up that the guy who commissioned the piece wanted me to use. It's kind of pose you see a lot, but still I give credit where credit is due.

Birthday and Christmas Goodies!

Well, I've got my reading (and viewing) planned for a while now. Good stuff!

Spookytown Progress

So, how's my progress going on Spookytown? Let's say... slow. Only because I just don't have a lot of free time. Full time job, part time freelance, wife, new baby, etc. But I have made some progress and attached is the proof. I have the first 5 pages done. Pages 4 and 5 took a while because they're a big double page spread. So, I have been working on it. Also, one of my New Year's resolutions is to work on it everyday, not matter how little I do. I just have to get something down on paper. So far it's working for me. But it's only been 12 days, so we'll see how it goes.

Also, if you're interested, I have still have some sketchbooks for sale. It’s a 20-page mini-comic type book containing over 70 sketches, drawings and doodles that I did while preparing to start the graphic novel. I printed up a limited edition of 100 books. Each is hand numbered and signed, I usually do a sketch on the back too. Just drop me a line if you'd like to buy one, they're just 5 bucks.

SHAG + Haunted Mansion = Me Likey

The greatness that is SHAG is creating 13 new pieces for the 40th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion. For more images and information, visit The Enchanted Tiki Blog. I must have these. At least some of them. Like maybe this one...

The Retro Kid Pool

I've been meaning to post this for a long time now. Check out this great Flickr group. They have tons of old school illustrations. Cool, cool stuff. If you're into that sort of thing that is.
